What occupies my research is the two poles of text and reception:
– the New Testament, interpreted as closely as possible to the original, being aware of the risk of reading my own thoughts into the text
– the reception of the text by new readers, resulting in a ‘new text’ coloured by the new readers horizon.
No serious exegesis can disregard the fundamental laws of interpretation, exemplified in the scholarly reception of the texts.
